Indeed it is so… a beautiful day in this neighborhood…

Indeed it is so… a beautiful day in this neighborhood…

A morning new has come
Feel I the warmth of the brilliant sun
The sweet song of the songbird is heard
Feel I the knowing of THE WORD
Lush, green, and in resplendent array they be
Shimmering leaves upon the towering tree
Azaleas and rhododendrons in blooms of pink and white
Holding to the gift of this day in noon day light
The quiver of new grass gentle below my feet
Here I with earth, with sun, the blessings to greet.

Indeed it is so… a beautiful day in this neighborhood…

...This Moment... the music of NOW...

the sacred gift of this moment
sun in warming brilliance
air fresh, scented with the grass green and lush
an array of beauty to behold
flowers of mystical form and grace
leaves speaking the gentle winds
sky a lambent blue of pure light
branch, bough, leaf, a songbird song
this outside my open window known
be this the sacred dance, the music of NOW...

At my front door blooms there be
An array of colors to greet thee

P A U S E ...

A breath, a sigh, a P A U S E… and so then to paper
this the way of this poet of Aries birth
moved she is by reflections… past, present and yet to be
moved by the silence, moved by all there is
and so expressed be
P A U S E
Passion, Aspiration, Unity, Spirit, Exchange,
in words that echo the heart, in words that call to the soul.

When in the travels of time you choose to
P A U S E
do allow my invitation to be known
 each poetic offering a
 P A U S E.

Joyous Awakening

A Saturday Morning in Tappan

The sweet song of the song bird
Heard is the lilting grace
The rising sun
Felt is the splendor of light
The grass lush and new
Felt is the joy of Mother Earth
Flowers in opulent bloom
Be these the smiles of Creation
Such be the treasures of this presence
Embraced within the folds of the warming sun
And I a child of Aries
In a joyous awakening to BEING.

This very day…

In my garden flowers in full bloom
With delight now they grace my dinning room
Such splendor and beauty to behold
This be one of Creation’s story told
Delicate petals of color and light
Gathered in loving praise and pure delight
Lush green leaves in majestic array
So be the gifts of Spring this very day.

PHILOSOPHY... The POET...

A student of PHILOSOPHY…– the love of wisdom – and what is it that I was brought to more deeply appreciate, to be willing to be guided by, to embrace as an ideology… a WORD of letters, of sounding, of conceived meaning, each letter a part of the whole that calls for attention… and so, in presentation, each letter as it has come to define the calling truths of PHILOSOPHY… those of ancient times, those of Eastern thinkers, those of Western thinkers … be it that of…
     Passion
          Harmony

               Inspiration
                    Love
                        Omnipresence
                             Spirit
                                 Openness
                                      Praise
                                          Honor
                                              Yielding…

to heart, to soul, to BEING.

... what BE the guidance, the visions held by each philosopher that identifies with each calling letter of PHILOSOPHY...this the question that defines my inquiry, my exploration, and the quest that prevails.

With the full splendor of SPRING... green in lush array... I found myself called to what it is that brings Nature to manifest its beauty... is there a PHILOSOPHY that Nature is meant to guide us to? And so I took to the WORD... its revelation delicate, powerful, embracing, indeed TRUTH calling!!

...the POET... the PHILOSOPHER .... The commonality be the letters, P...O..E... within the two. Yes, each in response to Passion, to Omnipresence, to Exchange..., the T... be it known by the POET, and yet to be found by the PHILOSOPHER?? And when a POET,  and when a PHILOSOPHER,  or a student of PHILOSOPHY .... is it not TRUTH that is sought?

Ready for rooftops...

Prince Harry presenting

I N V I C T U S
G A M E S

THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS - MAY 09: Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex visits Sportcampus Zuiderpark as part of a programme of events to mark the official launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 on May 9, 2019 in The Hague, Netherlands.

As I viewed the presentation, listened to the words of Prince Harry,  conveyed and referenced to, "INVICTUS," brought into clear focus was the theme of the presentation, and the heart behind the program offerings . Touched for a myriad of reasons, I came to shed a tear of gratitude and an embracing joy. INVICTUS is a poem that for several decades has been an inspiration to me, and when shared with students of the APOGEE Paradigm™, has been equally impressive and inspiring. It is a poem penned by William Ernest Henley, 1849-1903, in response to his knowing spirit beyond pain and loss.

As you read Henley's words, as you view the presentation, feel the strength, the power, the spirit, the faith, that INVICTUS brings to BEING.
INVICTUS
BY WILLIAM ERNEST HENLEY
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
Respectfully,

And so I implore...WHO...

W H O

Who heeds the words of this poet
Who listens to these echoes of heart
Who feels the yearnings and the fire
Who sees the vision held clear

Is it the wind that whispers its own song
Is it the sun that warms and nourishes
Is it the moon that sheds its light
Is it the star that guides our way
Is it the seeker that searches for meaning
Is it the stranger who extends a hand
Is it the child who gives a knowing smile
Is it the heart in its pulsing quest
Is it the soul in its moment of call
Is it God in all present grace

Who heeds the words of this poet
Who listens to these echoes of heart
Who feels the yearnings and the fire
Who sees the vision held clear.

The Word complete
A single letter it be
You claim it as your own
As, too, to others it be known
Followed by two letters, and all is told
'Tis You and the Creator, each to behold.

BE it so...an early evening in reflection...

When SPRING bears its gift

When SPRING bears its gift, a sweet sigh

Blessings of Creation, rooted, in bloom set free
So too, each life on its destined journey

Through each season of change

Sing in PRAISE and GLORY
For within our hearts, within our souls, a sacred story.

Two Of My Favorite Things...

Green Frog... a Prince within heart
Butterfly ... with beauty and grace ne'er depart
These are two of my favorite things...

Rose Marie Raccioppi
Poet Laureate
Orangetown, New York

I have a collection of hand carved crystal/gem stone frogs. When 5 years of age, my Godmother read the tale of The Frog Prince.. being told that LOVE expressed and the affection of a kiss transformed the Frog back to the Prince he was meant to be... the Frog became the call for LOVE and TRNSFORMATION... A theme that is ever held in heart with loving JOY.

Too, as a young girl, I was a butterfly in a school play about Spring... yes, in flight was the spirit, beautifully delicate, magically colorful, divinely in deliverance.
My Favorite Things...
Richard Rogers
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites, when the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

And then I don't feel so bad.

Spoils of Spring

Libation ever sweet
The quiver of new grass below my feet
To Riverside Park, Dad and I did go
For the picking wild in sun’s warm glow
The scent of green, budding golden light
Yellow flowers, such an alchemic delight
Gathered many and held in hand with love
Mother Earth thanked as too, God above
Be these to be my very first bouquet
I with Dad gifted to Mom on Mother’s day.
