Threads of Time ...the warp and weft

Threads of Time...

we gave a cry and all rejoiced for this our birth complete
we are our first steps greeted with open arms
our first word that brought an admiring smile...
trace the years and their memories await anew
a montage, a kaleidoscope, of one's life view
sounds, impressions, of place time and moments sweet
where our dreams and our days come to meet
praise, punishment, joy and pain come to define
a life known as rightly yours, a life lived as mine
and what brings reason to pause this very day
but the wondrous Creation given by Life along its way
a sculpture unveiled and all in AWE and PRAISE
for what each has brought to their ennobled days
and then a painting, a poem, an endearing embrace
upon a time line of memories now they to place
decades of moons have brought mystery and delight
magical be this waxing and waning of Creation's light
and so this heart, this soul, in time's grasp and claim
be held in the spirit and glory of our Creator's name
be it of yesterdays or days yet, and dreams enfold
each new gaze, a breath, a sigh, be this our story told
with threads of time Life's cloak we weave
let it BE the warp and weft of Divinity conceived.

A reflection, a thought, symbolism, metaphor, and so too, the pen upon paper, to make known, to make real, what is perceived, what the mind, the soul spirit, the BEING calls to be heard.

The warp, the weft, symbolic and metaphoric. On a loom, threads are first stretched lengthwise, this is called the warp. Be this as above, so below, the spirit to prevail. At right angles to it, a shuttle coil moves back and forth, our progression day by day, moment by moment, our bringing in the cross wires, the weft. It is this interplay, this interchange, the alternation of warp and weft that creates the woven fabric, symbolic of the substantive of our BEING.

Our SOUL to greet...

The ROSE, delivers its spirited message in its petals of tenderness and beauty, and its wisdom, in the piercing pain of its thorns. Symbolic and metaphoric be its telling, its commune with soul.

In loving gratitude to Yavaun Swanson
this from the Roselight Garden at Grace Cottage.

Offerings of such beauty and grace
The delight of which holds to heart's place
This ROSE among the blooms of your garden sweet
Where the blessings of Creation, our SOUL to greet.

Dogwood branch...

Dogwood branch...

High winds and torrential rain there be
thunderous sounding upon the Dogwood tree
a branch of bloom and beauty of white
the morning greeting of this day's light
and so here captured in its budding of grace
a floral gift within home's heart to place.

YES...Yield Eternal Spirit...

YES, we are of time, of place, of intention,
of vision, of breath, of BEING
a thought, a knowing, a dream,
this our consciousness
in its myriad of ventures.
I accompany You with each word,
each note played,
and come to embrace
the glory of existence.
Thank YOU Estas Tonne.

Winds, the sound,
sunrise, sunset, the light,
the ocean, the thunderous waves,
the tides, the ebb and flow,
as too, the meanderings of mind.
The deep breath and the NOW in all its glory,
in all its splendor, in all its grace,
YOU make known ,
music that knows the pain,
the pleasures,
the passions,
the calling, the quest,
the pause,
the reawakening,
the mountain is climbed.
The SOUL known
within the self as an eternal presence of
Spirit, Omnipresence, Unity, Love,
and this the exaltation,
I AM.

We Question... WHAT BE... 2023 ~ National Poetry Month,

Dear Residents –
As it is National Poetry Month, this week I will leave you with a poem from Rose Marie Raccioppi, Orangetown's very own Poet Laureate:
We Question... WHAT BE...2023

what be the purpose of words to share
but to know of one's heart expressing care
what be the purpose of banner and praise
but to bring celebration to our gift of days
what be the purpose to guide and teach
but to know that beauty and truth are within our reach
what be the purpose to know of time, space and measure
but to account for life's perceived treasure
what be the purpose to know of vistas so very far
but to know that we too hold the light of a star
what be the purpose to know of history and time's story
but to understand the ever present quest for power and glory
what be the purpose of drama and stage
but to act out the calling of soul, time and age
what be the purpose of music, dance and a song to sing
but to know the pulsing our hearts do bring
what be the purpose to draw, paint, sculpt, to hold a vision divine
but to revere and mark in splendor a life yours, a life mine
what be the purpose of holding accord of word and deed
but to live the honor of our days as a blessed creed.

We gather, we pray, we join hearts, this MEMORIAL Day 2023

Skyward be our eyes...

A feeling, a thought, and skyward be our eyes
The solace of light within supernal skies
Blessings of ALL we do feel
The touch of GOD ever real
And in this moment as Below as Above
Beheld we be by the embrace of Love
From the light a resounding WORD
The message of GOD, the ALL be heard
Our Sons and Daughters in blessed memories they be
For the valor and sacrifices made to defend land, sky, and sea
Held within our hearts be memories of sweet times shared
We in PRAISE Salute those who are in GOD’s heavenly care
And so this moment, this hour, this day, a blessed salute we give
To those who with sacrifice of life defended the freedoms we live.

And in this moment as Below as Above
Beheld I be by the embrace of Love
