...a beautiful day in the neighborhood...

A dawning day new has come
Touched by the warmth of the brilliant sun
The sweet song of the songbird is heard
Feel I the knowing, the calling of THE WORD
Lush, green, and in resplendent array they be
Shimmering leaves upon each towering tree
Azaleas, rhododendrons, in blooms of magenta and white
Holding to the gift of this day in the noon day light
The quiver of new grass gentle below my feet
Here I with earth, with sun, the blessings to greet
Outside the window be these gifts of bloom divine
Blessings to behold for treasures of Creation and time.

Indeed it is so… a beautiful day in the neighborhood…

HOLD TO THE GIVINGS

Listen I, to the murmur of the day
The calling, the calling, of THE WAY

Is my love known
Is my love felt
Is the light within seen

Questions in response to this moment in time

Is there a legacy of spirit held as mine

Are my words held in poetic call

Heard as a soul calling to the ALL

Life precious, this gift onto you, onto me
Behold I within each breath the grace of THEE

AMEN AMEN be this song of soul
For the blessings of life, pay I willingly the toll

May we each in our own spirited way
Hold to the givings, to the givings, of this day.

AMEN AMEN.

Memorial Day ~ 2020

A Memorial Day Tribute ~ 2020

So be our prayers of love and praise this Memorial Day
For Our Veterans who have served in their own selfless way

’Tis the vision of freedoms and valor within souls that be
Known be our sons and daughters who have served from sea to sea

The cry of Freedom ever a blessed creed
Held by sacrifice, a vision, and noble deed

Each life that was, NOW lives in God’s embrace sublime
Ever blessed be their souls in soaring grace divine

To Freedoms’ Call hearts in praise be heard
And so the spoils of victory and liberation’s word

No words can explain the wages of war we do spend
But for the freedoms and rights we are to defend

Tears of lament and loss we do shed and share
Let us in heart know, in valor, souls soar high in God’s care

This gift of Life with vision blessed and bold
This the giving within each Veteran’s story told

Light beholden within our heart
From which love and freedom have their primordial start

Endured they battlefields of victory of plight
Through all held they freedom’s light

In homage to sons and daughters, husbands and wives
Hearts of purpose who have given their lives

Our dear ones who once filled our day
Their souls taken to another path, to the eternal way

Be there Peace, Brotherhood, Freedom, in God’s name
And to each Veteran our blessings and acclaim

Memorial Day in word, in song, in tribute, honor be heard
The glory, the blessings, the light of Freedom’s Word.

TROVES of TIME... Treasures vaulted within this heart

TROVES of TIME...

Moments of being, the troves of time
In reflection, thoughts as words line by line
Treasures vaulted within this heart
From which reverie has its start
Garlands of thought ever free
Gifts of life bequeathed onto me
Now and memories of days old
Mark this time, stories yet to be told
What pray tell am I to understand
The God within holds loving command
This moment born ever anew
Troves of time betrothed onto each of you
This moment to BE, and lovingly to share
Known be our hearts. and God's tender care.

"Mom beholden to the light..."

Respecting Wellness and the protection of 'isolation,' today's visit with my son, was I standing at the closed glass door. As I looked up to the light, standing behind the reflection cast upon the glass, my son took this picture of, "Mom beholden to the light." ...and so it IS...

look I to the sun above
creation in its unconditional love
upon bough, branch and leaf there be
light in reflected glory from the grace of Thee
splendor cast in shadow and light from afar
the sun, a shimmer, a star.

“Once you have tasted flight,
you will forever walk the earth
with your eyes turned skyward,
for there you have been,
and there you will always long to return.”

...the grace of God's WORD

On this day, the 1st of May 2020, Tappan, New York...

blooms laden with rain
touched with the morning light
green in an array of hues and tones
subtle, deep, and bright
the sound of waters
from roof tops heard
the flutter of wings
the grace of God's WORD.
