September Dawning Light ~ A Verdant Song
September dawning light and wind upon garden green
Touches of golden hue upon leaves now seen
A verdant song in wind's whispers I perceive
Nature's palette within Presence conceived
Felt is the quiver of tree and leaf, mighty and tall
The beckoning of the jeweled tones, the colors of Fall
Soft ambient sounds of rustling leaves be they heard
As too, the sacred songs of the perching songbird
The warming sun alight in its supernal array
Embraced I be by this, this September day.

The Spoils of Rain and South Winds Yesternight
Rain and south winds yesternight
A sky of gray be the morning’s light
Each fallen leaf laden with the falling rain
Their wind swept flight put to tame
A brimming blanket of leaves upon the ground
Quiet they lay, gone their rustling sound
Soft be this bedding of leaves from branch and bough
Winds of Autumn and rain holding to nature’s vow
Branches with leaves in the splendor of color some yet be
Crimson, russet, orange, and gold donned by many a tree
Trees barren of leaves reach to the heaven’s above
Past the winter to come, Spring anew, blessings and love.

..and so it is… a September Day... Nature's Vow
mountain side fields of green there be
on river banks as waters flow to the ocean to the sea
from Spring to Winter be there ever seen
budding and seasoned leaves of green
green leaves now turning to an alchemic gold
the tales of Fall be the NOW of a story told
dew touched green greets the dawn
the harvest from nature's bounty drawn
in heights that soar a tree does stand
the splendor of green in sublime command
shades and hues now gold upon branch and bough
the grace of green, the grace of change, 'tis nature's vow.

... each leaf… "...something of the marvelous."
A leaf that I have had from seasons ago... pressed in a book, in honor of a beautiful Fall outing... its 'veins' reminding me of the life forces within each of us.
In all things of nature,
there is something of the marvelous.
~ Aristotle
... each leaf…
touches of color brilliant and bold
the glory of a season be it now told
veins of life in majestic flow
the heart of SELF the leaf does know
each leaf holds within its creation divine
the breath of life lovingly sublime
known be this eternal quest and fire
life in all its beauty and expressive desire.

The wondrous in expressive beauty...
The wondrous in expressive beauty...
Inspired by the gem tone colors of Autumn, by the flight of leaves, by the shimmer of light upon branch and bough, by the alchemic grace of the season, by the touch of the wondrous in expressive beauty... and so I take to palette and brush ...

.And when do you know that the artist within you is calling…
when every color sings its splendor
when every line is a pathway
when every surface is an invitation
when every configuration becomes a work in progress
when holding a brush a kingdom is known
when holding a pen a poem speaks its words
when seeing the light truth within beckons
when what IS entreats Inspired Spirit
when ascension, revelation, truth, summon the soul
when the moment is the embrace of creation
when the vision bids mastery
the calling… the calling… the calling.

Blessed Alchemy
trees in revelation of secrets of time
joy in emergent colors devine
in my garden there now be
golden leaves of blessed alchemy
wondrous be these expressions of Fall
from trees mighty and proudly tall
behold I the splendor of a resounding grace
their secret of joy within soul I place.

A Fallen Leaf
Collect a fallen leaf on this October day
Know the blessings it holds in its magical way
Press between folds of paper, a treasure to be
The strength, the grace, of a towering tree
Time does pass and held within a memory true
A leaf, a moment, all in celebration of you
It may call to be on view and framed
Simply a JOY ~ a moment of time so claimed.
Blessings be known,

Aristotle's Word...
Aristotle's Word…
"In all things of nature,
there is something of the marvelous."
upon a weathered table
'tis the tree that once was
a leaf upon it rests
herald be the golden alchemy of Fall
in answer to the season's vow and call
and I with tea and Aristotle's word
the stillness of all lovingly heard.

A Secret Held...
It has been said:
"Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower."
~ Albert Camus
~ Albert Camus
As I look to the jeweled tone colors of leaves ...
Each color, a secret held, until the season renewed its vow
For the splendor of color to soar free from branch and bough
In the embrace of the lambent sky and sun so very bright
Leaves of radiant color swept by autumn winds in wistful flight
Brilliant hues of orange, crimson, red, burgundy, and gold
A blanket of leaves upon the ground, the tale of Fall be told.

Outside my window
from where I sit at my desk
the brilliant amber-russet of the leaves of the Dogwood
hold to the noonday light
the embracing of the deep green of the pines
join in the brilliance of the sun.
A pause... and felt is
the passion
the ascension
the unity
the spirit
the exchange
the gift of time, presence and BEING.

Season of C H A N G E
Season of C H A N G E ~ here in Tappan, New York
see I the beckoning utterances of Fall
the touch of amber upon leaves of the dogwood
the now shorter day, the now longer night
summer rains in libation
summer winds that dance branch and leaves
the warmth of the dawning day new
such be the season of change
heed well the Calling, the Harmonies
the Aspirations, the Nurturance
the Grace, the Eternal
within the presence, within BEING
change, the constant ever in expressive call
the glory, the fire, the breath of BEING, the ALL.

...and so I ponder...
A leaf, a gem, a crystal, a mineral... and so I ponder...
Could leaves be the very messengers that speak the language of rubies, emeralds, jade, citrine, peridot, tourmaline, malachite?
These among the myriad of gems of Creation...
All Above All Below...
each leaf, each tree, to feed the Earth,
to transform the Light into crowning jewels.
each leaf, each tree, to feed the Earth,
to transform the Light into crowning jewels.
A leaf, a gem, a crystal, a mineral... and so I ponder...
As I step into my garden I to greet
The sounding feel of leaves below my feet
From that mighty Oak tree ever strong and tall
This blanket of fallen leaves, gift of Fall
Amber, red, orange and colors of gold
Trees of Birch, Dogwood, mark time and a story told
Leaves alight and with winds do flee
Season of change this be Fall's decree
Warming sun, touched by the morning air
November's gift this hour, sky so blue so fair
These gems of trees in colors bright
Behold the benediction of Creation's light
And so the leaves in time, a blessed alchemy
Mother Earth delivers anew gems of light to be.

Sunday RAIN...
Sunday RAIN...
From trees young, towering, mighty and tall
The spoils of time, the gifts of Fall
Rains and south winds yesternight
A sky of gray holding to this noon day light
Each fallen leaf laden with the falling rain
Their wind swept flight put to tame
A brimming blanket of leaves upon the ground
Quiet they lay, gone their rustling sound
Soft be this bedding of leaves from branch and bough
Winds of Autumn true to the splendor of this season's vow.

A glance away...
in haiku reflection
alchemic it is
nature in frivolity
but a glance away.
A glance away...
To the left of my computer desk, on the second floor of my home, is a window that overlooks a garden of green. Closest is the Dogwood Tree with its amber, gold and red leaves, heralding the coming days of Fall. To the left and right of the Dogwood is bamboo, and further back are oak trees, and pine trees of many seasons. Here I, above ground, as the afternoon winds blow, branches bearing leaves sway in lilting grace. Quietude fills my space, and all of nature’s frivolity is but a glance away.
As a young child I would look to the sky for solace, for what I perceived to be GOD, and unconditional love, for God gave the same sky to me, as HE did to kings and queens. What was on high was to be untouched by hands, to remain pure in its intent, to be where GOD choose to be. In a city wrought with ceaseless activity, I imagined myself in a choir of angels singing sweetly as did the songbirds perched in trees on high.
In reflection, in reverence, I behold the world on high, the tall trees that ascend to spaces above Earth’s ground, to the nourishment of the sun, the fires that sustain, of the rain, the waters that refresh, of the moving currents of air, the breath of life itself.
YES, quietude fills my space, and all of nature’s frivolity is but a glance away.

A Season of Change... the calling wind...
A season of change... emergent colors...
leaves taken by the calling wind...and I...
🍂
past shallow waters
to the depths of BEING
past pretense and fear
to the depths of TRUTH
past the silence
to the expressive WORD
past reprisals and judgments
to the grace, the knowing, the beauty of SELF
the SELF as Spirit, Evolution, Love, Freedom
this in each breath of BEING
this in each breath of BEING...
A season of change... emergent colors...
leaves taken by the calling wind.

Autumn Jewels...
'tis the season of change that calls its name
behold these first jewels of autumn
touches of amber, crimson, russet and gold
'tis the season of colors majestic, bright and bold
the warming sun the air crisp
lambent sky of blue
the gems of Creation bequeathed onto you
a deep sigh and felt is the Creator's loving grace
in this moment bounty of time to place.
