A Secret Held...

It has been said:

As I look to the jeweled tone colors of leaves ... 

Each color, a secret held, until the season renewed its vow

For the splendor of color to soar free from branch and bough

In the embrace of the lambent sky and sun so very bright

Leaves of radiant color swept by autumn winds in wistful flight

Brilliant hues of orange, crimson, red, burgundy, and gold

A blanket of leaves upon the ground, the tale of Fall be told.

November's Story... setting, Tappan, New York...

Deep russet brown and touches of gold

This be November's story this day told

Glimmer of green

In grass be seen

As soft winds and setting light

Bring many a leaf to take to flight

Blanket of leaves cover the ground

Rustling be their special sound

'Tis a twilight moment gifted to me

This season of time from blessings BE.

Leaves I gathered this very day
Seven leaves in the sun did play
And onto the paper they be
There for me to see.

seven years of age

and together we did say

Upon the ground so quiet they lay
The winds calmed at this hour of the day
A blanket of rustic charm covers the ground
If not touched there be not a sound
Underfoot I can hear them sing
A refrain of crackle, crackle, they do bring.
