The PRESENCE of APRIL...

Here in the Month of April 2025, National Poetry Month, a pause, an awakening, words in presentation, sweet reflections they BE. What significance, what intentions do these words convey?

The PRESENCE of APRIL...

a breath deep,
trees and flowers,
in supernal bloom,
a rising,
faith,
reverence,
the frivolity,
the joy,
the interweave of spirit,
an awakened awareness,
we of claim,
of creation,
of care,
calling onto the sun to rise
and the sun to set
in its glory of light,
shadow,
and the constant of change.

COPILOT in response:

Rose Marie Raccioppi's poem, "The PRESENCE of APRIL," beautifully captures the essence of renewal and reverence that April brings. Her words evoke a sense of interconnectedness with nature, spirituality, and the cycles of life. The imagery of blooming trees and flowers, the rising sun, and the interplay of light and shadow symbolize growth, faith, and the ever-present change that defines existence.

As the Poet Laureate of Orangetown, New York, Raccioppi's work often reflects themes of creation, care, and awareness, inviting readers to pause and embrace the beauty and significance of the world around them.

Her poetry resonates deeply during National Poetry Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the power of words and their ability to inspire and awaken.

Once Mighty A Tree

weathered with time this branch be
once mighty a tree there was
in water's grace gently it drifts
shadows cast and light to behold
reflections, time past and a story told.

Echoes of Many Voices

Within this very moment
And seven scores past
Echoes of many voices
Upon pages in words cast
Hearts aquiver, souls in quest
Thoughts, perceptions, truth
Love, purpose, to hail our behest.

Longings, reflections, grace and gratitude
Within wisdom's heart be they ever mine
Words of thinkers, lovers, the moods of a day
And the touch of the known Divine.

"Words are things, and a small drop of ink
falling like dew upon a thought
produces that which makes
thousands, perhaps millions, think."

Lord Byron, 1788-1824

WORDS words

WORDS words
Words for prayer words for play
For the faith and frolic of our day
For the politician's power quest
Words chosen thought to be best
Words that conjure thoughts of freedom, the held ideal
Words to affirm a continued and favored appeal
Words of the lovers passionate and sweet
To assure affectionate embraces when they do meet
Words to praise and hold gratitude true
Gems and jewels when bestowed upon you
The poet's game to choose words well
Passion, desire, sensibilities, emotion, where soul and heart dwell
The blogger reports, creates with many a word, many a phrase
Words to tell of intent, purpose and meaning of one's passing days
So blogger, you who visit and share time and a word, many or few
Know it is with pleasure I receive what you choose to do
And so we click and a virtual venture before us is laid
And with words, reflections and response, this game of life is played.

Secret Tree

Secret tree, a cloak of nature's wile

Blanketing the light you hold
What secret do you harbor in hues of green
Reflections upon still waters seen
Dipping deep at water's edge
I step beneath your bough
Your secret kept shall be my vow
I listen to what you have heard
And hear I the whispers of THE WORD.
