Magenta Mood

A magenta mood
Glade of colors luminous
Heart's pulsing passion.

Rose Marie Raccioppi

Magenta, one of the first aniline dyes,
was discovered shortly after the Battle of Magenta, 1859, in northern Italy.
The color is named after the battle, alluding to the blood shed in the battle.

When painting this piece I felt I was taken back to that battle.

Bernie, thanks - it was driven by a calling passion - and a playful encounter of light.

Your painting reminds me of silk drapes that hang in my dining room. At sunset the light penetrates their threads and makes for a wonderful glow and the magic of other hues peaking through . . .

Bonnie, Thank you. When I was painting, the feeling of what enfolds us was experienced, and so the play of passion, light and shadow, the drapery known.

HI ROSEMARIE-

oh of the times bleeding in darkeness muted in passionate memories - hanging on to the edge while falling into the blend of all things not yet spoken and red with the blood of life - from this place healing is not even an idea - it is a passionate dream that will come long after the bleeding stops -I know - I was there once. Long ago.

Loving you

Gail, Even though the impressions and the meaning you bring to my paintings and words are yours, you capture what brought me to such expression. A magenta mood is what you describe.

Magenta, one of the first aniline dyes, was discovered shortly after the Battle of Magenta, 1859, in northern Italy. The color is named after the battle, alluding to the blood shed in the battle.

Gail, Well here we are in the same moment of time posting to one another in response. I was quite taken by your personal interpretation of both words and painting, reflecting not only our present time shared, but how closely your interpretation related to the Battle of Magenta as well. Sister Spirits in communication...

HI

The connection I feel to you is so powerful - your creative expressions reflect my truths intimately - it is freeing beyond my wildest imagination.

Love you

..and with all due respect and honorable intent may I add that beyond freeing there is a raw sensuality that comes to life - passionately and intensely as I "feel" your images and words.
