The buzzing of the saw
The humming of the drill
The tapping of the hammer
The sweep of the trowel
A choral symphony of labor fills the air
Men with heart and hand set to repair
Hands of might and will ever so strong
To move each challenge smoothly along
Time ravaged wood and stone
Newly set, newly honed.

That is a very nice poem, amidst all the "racket", sometimes I forget that old buildings need help too! :)
Restoration- A new beginning. Repair- starting all over again. A wonderful poem about starting fresh and new!
all things new. takes many hands, many hours and a lot of work. but beautifully put.
Beautiful description! I love the title, too; it holds such promise and history.
Hi Rose Marie:)
I am astounded at this amazing poem.
I wonder whether you noticed or not the words in the first four lines reminded me of birds.
THE BUZZING OF THE BEE
THE HUMMING OF THE HUMMING BIRD OR INSECT
THE TAPPING OF THE WOODPECKER
THE SWEEP OF THE EAGLE.
The sounds produced by the machinery are the same as the sounds produced by the birds. Extraordinary indeed!
The rest of the poem brings to mind the determination of men who are resolute and single minded using their brain and brawn to set right a defective equipment. The end result is success.
Lovely selection of words, captivating imagery and practical wisdom.
Have a nice day Rose:)

Rain, We are often called upon to orchestrate a bit of chaos - at times a challenging prospect for sure.
Choices, You "caught" the metaphor!
Brian, Tasks and deeds and a noble creed... work gets done - from sun to sun!!
Karen, Ever a work in progress... promises fulfilled ... and yes, a history - and so here we are, the builders and the restoration.
Joseph, So very appreciative of your perspectives - I feel the presence of the orchestrated sounds, of nature, of labor, all in celebration of life and purpose! Thank you for your reflections and generous words.
