Boreas

The North Wind calls its name

Within folds to hold its claim
Warp and weft of swaddling sublime
Wrap and enfold this moment mine.

Boreas, Oil on canvas, 1903, John William Waterhouse, 1849-1917.

Beautiful verse to accompany a beautiful painting. Before I used "Windflowers," I used "Boreas" as my avatar.

One of the treats of visiting your blog is the wonderful art you display with your poetry. I love the poetry, too, of course. It seems to come so easily to you. Lucky lady...

Karen,

The common thread of beauty captured, so do we weave. Your posts are met with appreciation and your blog ever with reflection and gratitude.
