Seduction and passion's plea
Longing and rapture in reverie
Fervor, spirit's luminous flame
Ablaze the soul calls its claim
Rueful reflection sounds its cry
Muse be summoned to answer why
Enfold yourself in the spark of creation
Now and eternal is all revelation
Brush stroke of color upon surfaces vast
Sculpture set by the artist to cast
Carving of stone with the hand divine
Drawing holding grace in shadow and line
The sounding heart and reaching hand
Music, music, echoes of God's command
Flaming heart of love and boundless fire
Know I of grace and incessant desire
Art, music, words in prose, words in rhyme
Playful musings of these passions mine.

Aphrodite Speaks
Cupid
Robust beauty
Of love
I pray tell me
Hast thou ever
Felt the bite
Of loves
Own arrow
And thought self
Perchance cursed?
Ancient wisdom
Of love
Perplex you
Hex you
With complexities
Well versed
Heart waxing
With soul about to burst
Silly humans
What knowledge
Have they of loves
True glory
Or
The silent woe
Of hearts sacred story
Your words are heard deeply and with loving appreciation ...
"The silent woe
Of hearts sacred story"
...and so the silence is broken and the knowing joy is known...
Thanks! Loved your post and remembered this bit of work from years past. Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, it so often that "a bit of work from years past" has a way of speaking to the present and assumes birth anew.
