The Storm

the torrential rains
the strong winds
waters a flow
ocean shores, river banks
streams, creeks, ponds
waters a flow
trees and branches fall in submission
leaves in frenetic flight
the storm the storm the storm
the sounding sounding cry
the calm the calm the calm
this after night violet be the sky.

Emergent Flight

upon canvas
mood and Fall's plea
'tis glory of color
that calls to me
brush strokes beholden
to this season's call
a day darkened by gray clouds
and torrential rains that fall
sweeping winds
holding to leaves and color alight
the embrace of change and time
all in this moment's emergent flight.
