Through This Passage ~ the path of SOURCE

Asked: "How at 84 years of age do you maintain such a youthful and positive outlook on life?"
And I, in response: "I follow the path of SOURCE ... be this the very Spirit, the Oneness, the Union, the Resolve, the Creative, the Eternal... that makes itself known breath by breath, by breath."

APOGEE Paradigm™

Through This Passage
a day of skies so bright and fair
the embrace of life in soulful care
gifts of presence and gratitude be known
tenderness of love so graciously shown
a feeling of purpose and destiny defined
an ever opening path within this heart mine
an arch of stone graced by sun's light
behold this day in blessings held in delight
through this passage of time and many a place
our journey of life, love, beauty, truth and grace
PRESENCE, the SOURCE, bequeathed upon our soul
And so the quest, the journey, the calling goal
In reflection, in gratitude, in a supernal joy true
A path, a venture, this each moment gifted anew.

In loving gratitude to Patrick, Karen and Christopher,
Mom

Indeed a most beautiful day spent in Central Park, New York City
with my two sons, Patrick and Christopher and beloved Karen.
Promenading, boating, dining, all shared delight in totality.

… it the journey.. the markings of THE WAY...

… it the journey.. the markings of THE WAY...
need it be of pain to be real
need it be of anguish beyond conceal
need it be of loss and tear
need it be of what we fear
is this the poet’s hailed domain
is there a vista beyond the pain
and so I a poet called to see
the blessings bestowed upon a you, a me
without effort or labors of my hand
the sun to rise upon Creation’s command
and with the gift of breath be each endowed
by the glory that GOD and life do vow
heed I the love, the truth, the beauty, within this day
be it the journey, the markings of THE WAY.

J O U R N E Y

At this evening hour... An account, a story read of another’s life that ended all too soon… The story presents the person's own questioning of his life so young, so wanting, to be facing an imminent death due to the ravages of cancer...he, himself a neurosurgeon in residency, questioned what was life itself, its purpose, its pain, its vision, its faith... and so in reflection...

JOURNEY

BE there the impasse

the intersection

of words

of biology

of physics

of philosophy

of behavior

of aspiration

in an ever present questing journey…

BE I the questions, the exploration, the journey of mind
BE I the daughter, the wife, the mother, the journey of role
BE I the teacher, the therapist, the journey of service
BE I the activist, the advocate, the journey of vision
BE I the poet, the artist, the journey of expression
BE I SELF known, the journey of liberation
BE I AM known, the journey of TRUTH.

BE there the impasse
the intersection
of words
of biology
of physics
of philosophy
of behavior
of aspiration
in an ever present questing journey…

Divinity
Ascension
Revelation
Kindness

Labyrinth

For Charan

This labyrinth of mind calls to my SOUL
To reach the SELF, a heartfelt goal
Enter this path to a center place
Hold to this knowing, your WILL to trace
The circle, the spiral, a labyrinth does make
A purposeful path, a journey to take
A circuitous travel to the center DIVINE
Within, without, be this journey mine
Know I of this center, its silent roar
Within, without, my SPIRIT to soar.

The earliest known Christian labyrinth is located in a church in Algeria, with the words Sancta Eclesia (holy church) inscribed in its center. As early as A.D. 350, worshipers entering the church would trace the labyrinth with their finger in order to focus their thoughts and open themselves up to the presence of God.

In the Middle Ages, many cathedrals in Europe began to construct larger labyrinths. Christians who could not make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem would instead travel to these cathedrals to walk the labyrinth as a spiritual pilgrimage, symbolizing the journey to the Holy Land. The labyrinth in the floor of the nave at Chartres Cathedral in France is the most well known of the medieval designs.

The labyrinth is composed of eleven circuits and is divided into four quadrants, clearly defined by a cross. The center of the labyrinth is a rose-shaped area for resting, prayer, or meditation. To walk a labyrinth is to provide yourself with a very personal experience. Some people walk with the intention of addressing an issue in their lives, others to pray and meditate. Walk between the lines of the circuit. The center is a place to pause, reflect, and receive insight. Walking the path back out of the labyrinth is a time for deep reflection and to consider its special meaning for you.

I have walked. Each step a loving memory. Each memory a living grace.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Gems Of Time

Moments of memory, treasure be mine
The troves, the garlands, the gems of time
A need, a calling within hearts command
A reaching, a touching, a knowing hand
Each hour, each day, each year now past
A journey, a questing, a destiny cast
To the NOW, a self, a being, a soul
Visions, passions, and many a goal
The sound, the paint, the pen, the word
Grace be known, be seen, be heard
With faith anew this hand, this heart
From destiny's path shall not depart.
