A Handy Thing... as told to my grandson...

A Handy Thing
It is such a handy thing
It holds and wears my ring

It claps, waves and greets a friend
A paper airplane off it will send

A fist to show how mighty strong
And fingers to lead me in a song

With pencil or pen it does write
With brush and paint bring colors bright

Nothing is as kind as its gentle touch
Hands to say I love you very much.

...a grace... a delight... In Quietude

gentle be the warmth of the sun
deep be the breath of resolve
a quietude, a pause, a knowing devine
take I to palette with brush and paint
the firmament lambent with love and light
in quietude, a grace, blessings of delight.

Dearest Friends, Thank You for visiting. This has been a WINTER to its name here in New York. Today, with yet mounds of snow from the last snowstorm, hints of the SPRING to come are joyfully present. Melting snow, peeking green of the daffodils, brilliant clear sky, the touch of the warming sun, all within the embrace of quietude and this season's cycle of change... so BE the Glory of Creation.... much love on to you... Rose Marie Raccioppi

...the artist...the poet... paint upon the palette

...the artist...the poet...

Paint Upon A Palette

paint upon a palette brush in hand
colors call to Spirit's command
strokes of color in joyful grace
the dance of all here to place
sky, water, earth within this heart
in loving celebration each stroke to start
day night the firmament so vast
with paint and brush held and cast
when each moment hours they be
behold strokes of color in reverie.

By Brush and Paint

threads of time present and past
seasons of change and memories cast
many a word to reveal
what is imagined what is real
many a page to unfold
a story a drama be told
labors and blessed fruit to bear
loving gifts of the Creator's care
a vision, a journey, with word kept known
by brush and paint, such knowing shown.
