Peeking Green

Peeking Green

Peeking green through melted snow
Winds of winter in whispers yet blow
A sounding serenade through barren branches heard
And the coveted song of a nesting songbird
The crisp leaves of Fall's season yet found
With broken twigs upon this awaiting ground
Driving rains upon emergent buds of green
Winter giving over to Spring in this moment seen
Felt is the quiver below my feet
Pulsing be Mother Earth as Spring she greets.
