Legacy of Valor...

WE in Orangetown, New York, Rich in History, WW II and SHANKS LEGACY... An exhibit of The Orangetown Historical Museum and Archives, do plan to visit ...
Yes, as a child of WW II memories ever so real. As Poet Laureate, I am honored to present a banner in PRAISE ~ this outside of Orangetown Town Hall... ðŸ‡¼ðŸ‡¸

OUR VETERANS
'Tis the vision of freedom and valor within souls we hail
Homage, gratitude to OUR VETERANS ever, ever, to prevail
The gifts of LIFE with vision blessed and bold
This the giving within each Veteran's story told
In reverent celebration of OUR VETERANS, their sacrifices made
To defend our freedoms and liberties our founding fathers laid.

This In Presentation... Camp Shanks Restoration Project, The Designation of Eagle Scout, Marco Amendola... IN VALOR...

In Valor

With Freedom's call, valor in praise be heard
For the spoils of victory and liberation's word
Hushed be the oppressive cry in anguish known
With Faith and noble deed in valor shown
This the dedication of those with freedom's vision held clear
Our gratitude to the sons and daughters whose sacrifices we ever to hold dear
It has been said no words can explain the wages of war we do spend
But for the freedoms and rights we are to defend
For those given to liberation and freedom's call
Blessed Be they who have given their All
So let us with open hearts and grace
Live the divinity of gratitude within heart's place
Tears with loss of life we do shed and share
Yet know that in valor, souls soar high ever in God's embrace and care.

In Valor Known -Veteran's Day 11/11/11

In tribute and reverence stand we
Held our right to be free
Hearts and souls in valor known
Right intention and devotion shown
Battlefields of victory and plight
Through all beheld freedom's light
Others before us in peace they lay
And gather in gratitude we this day
Sons and daughters, husbands and wives
Children of purpose have given their lives
The breath of freedom an endowment divine
Bequeathed to life yours, life mine.

Braveheart performed by Julian Lloyd Webber

within this heart a vision known
within this soul a path shown
oppression and deception no longer to enfold
FREEDOM'S plea of heart takes hold
TRUTH be the armor of valor's call
Braveheart in FAITH shall not befall.

In Memory of Lt. Col. Michael L. Murphy

This Day, December 11, 2009

Winds whispering sweet
When love and memory meet
For a life that will ever soar
In the heavens evermore
For the valor within heart
From which his quest had its start
For all he brought by noble deed
This in memory in God's loving creed.

Devotedly,
Rose Marie Raccioppi

In Honor of Lt. Col. Michael L. Murphy, USMC

Perseverance
March 3, 1962 - December 11, 2000

Memories of valor that touch our heart and soul
A place within our Presence the celebration of the goal
To reach our purpose with mind and plan
The birth of vision held by all of man
To hold resolve and endure all claim
To fire the passion beyond the pain
This assertion in what we do
With God's blessing brought to you
Relentless is the path the way
The spirit of perseverance calls this day
In honor of those who soar the heavens above
Our hearts open to God's eternal love.
