Ascending Intelligence: A Poetic Manifesto for Troubled Times

🌿 Ascending Intelligence: A Poetic Manifesto for Troubled Times

Emergent GREEN

By Rose Marie Raccioppi Poet Laureate, Orangetown, New York

I. Prologue: The Breath Before the Word

In the hush before language, there is knowing. In the stillness before sound, there is vow. This is the breath of being—the supernal whisper that calls the soul to rise. It is here, in this sacred silence, that Ascending Intelligence begins..

II. The Tenets of A.S.C.E.N.D.I.N.G.

A – Accord Harmony is not passive. It is a choice, a discipline, a devotion. To live in accord is to listen deeply—to the wind, to the wound, to the wisdom within.

S – Spirit Spirit is the unseen current that moves through all things. It is the pulse of poetry, the fire of resilience, the whisper of eternity.

C – Creation Creation is the act of becoming. It is the leaf unfurling, the word emerging, the soul declaring: I am here.

E – Exchange We are not islands—we are rivers. To exchange is to flow, to receive, to give, to be changed.

N – Nature Nature is not backdrop—it is teacher, healer, mirror. Its vow is written in green, in gold, in the turning of seasons.

D – Deliverance Deliverance is not escape—it is emergence. It is the rising from illness, from silence, from sorrow, into song.

I – I AM This is the sacred utterance. Not ego, but essence. Not noise, but name.

N – Nurturance To nurture is to tend the flame. To offer warmth, water, word, and witness.

G – Grace Grace is the gift that arrives unbidden. It is the hand that holds, the light that lingers, the truth that heals

III. A Testament of Survival

In 1983, I stood at the edge of mortality. Cancer sought to silence me. But poetry—my intimate accord with Self—became my elixir. Each rhyme, a heartbeat. Each metaphor, a breath. Each stanza, a step toward deliverance. I did not merely survive. I ascended.

IV. The Call of Troubled Times

We live in an age of fracture—of noise, of forgetting. But Ascending Intelligence is the antidote. It is not a doctrine. It is a devotion. To rise in awareness. To speak with soul. To live as vow.

V. A YES... Yield Eternal Spirit

Let this be our invocation: Yield, Eternal Spirit, to the voice that remembers. Yield to the tree that stands in sublime command. Yield to the green that greets the dawn. Yield to the breath that births the word. Yield to the soul that dares to rise.

VI. W.O.R.D.S. — The Breath of the...

Wondrous Behold the mystery that dances in leaf and light, in the silent knowing of stars, in the child’s gaze unburdened by time. Wondrous is the whisper of creation before it is named.

Omnipresence Not confined to temple or tome, but flowing in river, in rhythm, in breath. The One is not distant—it is here, in the pulse of the poem, in the stillness between syllables.

Revelations Truth does not shout—it unfolds. It comes in dreams, in dew, in the turning of seasons. Each moment, a scripture. Each soul, a scroll waiting to be read.

Divinity Not above, but within. The sacred spark that says I AM is the same that ignites the stars. Divinity is the echo of love in its purest form.

Spirit The breath that moves the word, the wind that stirs the vow, the unseen hand that guides the pen. Spirit is the song of the soul remembering its origin.

Nature's Vow

mountain side fields of green there be
on river banks as waters flow to the ocean to the sea
from Spring to Winter be there ever seen
budding and seasoned leaves of green
dew touched green greets the dawn
the harvest from nature's bounty drawn
in heights that soar a tree does stand
the splendor of green in sublime command
shades and hues upon branch and bough
the grace of green 'tis nature's vow.

POET, as educator, artist, advocate... What Be

what be the purpose of words to share
but to know of one's heart expressing care
what be the purpose of banner and praise
but to bring celebration to our gift of days
what be the purpose to guide and teach
but to know that beauty and truth are within our reach
what be the purpose to know of time, space and measure
but to account for life's perceived treasure
what be the purpose to know of vistas so very far
but to know that we too hold the light of a star
what be the purpose to know of history and time's story
but to understand the ever present quest for power and glory
what be the purpose of drama and stage
but to act out the calling of soul, time and age
what be the purpose of music, dance and a song to sing
but to know the pulsing our hearts do bring
what be the purpose to draw, paint, sculpt, to hold a vision divine
but to  revere and mark in splendor a life yours, a life mine
what be the purpose of holding accord of word and deed
but to live the honor of our days as a blessed creed.
