Outside my window...

The cycles of bloom, the changes within each season, the placement in relation to the touches of the sun, the rain, the snows, the frost, towering in the garden places of my home, have allowed me to listen, to feel;. to commune in a language of silent knowing.

Outside my window

Know I, this Oak's loving gifts

Towering life, strength and beauty

Rooted, reaching, branching free

Know I, its splendor and its grace

Many moons, many seasons past

The fresh green budding of Spring

The full rapturous bloom of Summer

The glorious array of Fall

Leaves donned in shades of crimson

Take to wind's wondrous flight

Bare soon both bough and branch

To hold Winter winds, snow and light.

Simply a Pause... at my open window...

gentle be the warmth of this moment now

the season’s grace fulfilling its vow

green, in emerald tones they be

yet touches of amber upon the dogwood tree

hushed be the sounds of task and deed

a pause, so very much in need

the sweetness of quietude and time

blessed be the embrace of the divine

the constant of change from day to day

know we as simply as, THE WAY

revel in the presence, live its pleasure

a smile, a sigh, a breath, a blessed treasure.

In Joyous Abandon ~ Autumn and the noon hour...outside my window...

Bamboo in graceful bow and sway
Holding the sun’s light in brilliant verdant array
In joyous abandon the silence to greet
The chorus of sound as leaf and wind meet
Dancing shadows of supple canes I to behold
Among the lithe and lush leaves touches of gold
Leaves and canes in supple surrender bow
Beauty, strength, gentleness be the bamboo’s vow
'Tis the noon hour of this Autumn day
The wind, a chime song and canes at play.
