Barren Trees

The winter sun bright and free
To touch and reach the whole of me
No leaves to shield me from its rays
The gentle warmth of cold winter days
Shadow, light and wind the frost does hold
This moment present and memories of old
With naked branch and bough stand each  tree
Noble and knowing creation’s gift unto thee
Heed the inner call to leave all in slumber’s grace
For ever there be Spring anew in each heart to place.
Sweet be the song of wind upon chime
The gifts of barren trees, life and time.

Breath... And I listen...

When breath becomes a sounding grace
Within it finds a sacred place
When breath becomes a lilting sublime
Within it finds the knowing divine
When breath becomes the life it gives
Within the spirit the splendor lives.

These sounding gestures a lilting grace
Hands, lips, with breath and love to place
Heard be this music and known be our heart
From which the blessings of breath shall not depart.
