The Wind and The Willow ~ What be these whispers in silence heard

The Wind and The Willow

what be these whispers in silence heard
be it the wind in its echoing grace
be it what pulses in heart’s place
be it of the wind and the willow in whispers divine
be it of the breath that awakens this soul mine.

what be these whispers in silence heard
be it the sounding of waters and flow
be it the calling of what one is to know
be it the beckoning of the MUSE within
be it the knowing peace beyond the din

what be these whispers in silence heard
be it the quest that reaches for purpose and time
be it the need to awaken and revere the divine
be it the felt thirst for understanding and love
be it the blessed lure of earth and the heavens above

what be these whispers in silence heard
be it the gentle quiver of a bloom anew
be it the touch upon flower of the morning dew
be it the grace of a giving soul
be it the taunts of an unfulfilled goal

what be these whispers in silence heard
be it the Self, Spirit, BEING, as grace
be it what is to be held in heart’s place
be it the peace that longs to be known
be it the beauty that truth has shown.

Such Be the Gift

Such Be the Gift

Touches of crimson on the dogwood tree
'Tis the play of color in this season to be
Each leaf holds glimmers of gold
Within, the story of days be told
'Tis Summer's end, hail to the Autumn anew
Treasures of color in many a hue
Such be the gift of tree and time
The breath of beauty, the pulse sublime.

Edgar Allen Poe, an attended presentation and a Poet Laureate in Reflection...

Just returned from an outstanding presentation on the life and works of
Edgar Allen Poe...
and as I was driving home... a smile and these words...

many stories of Edgar Allen Poe be they told
he with words pithy, in poems and mysteries bold
one of many moods and emotions beyond conceal
his legendary Raven with illusion so real
pain and quest held line by line
words and impressions the spoils of time.

"It will be found, in fact, that the ingenious are always fanciful, and the truly imaginative never otherwise than analytic."

- from "The Murders in the Rue Morgue"

Reflections from a Poet Laureate...

Begetting Treasure

the garden will be attended to and the weeds will grow
the rooms will be put in order and the clutter soon to show
the bills will be paid and more due to come
what is completed will again call to be done
but when a poem I come to write all is complete and shall ever BE
words a Birth Eternal granted unto you unto me
the garden, the rooms, the bills and indeed poetic pleasure
words, words, each its own ever present begetting treasure
a poet laureate, I am in designation named
within THE MUSE entreats a word and so its poetic claim.
