The First Day of 2023

 

the dawning of a day

’tis the gift of THE WAY

for each breath, each moment of time

held we are in the embrace of the divine

this day to mark a year, 2023 now new

behold, behold, GOD's love on to YOU

the light of love that calls to heart

from blessings and grace ne'er to depart.

...the day's news known, the visions yet held...

God's gifts to be known

By the bounty of earth shown

God's voice to be heard

In the hearing of HIS WORD

For the feel of abiding love divine

For this moment in blessed grace mine

Each breath, day and passing year

In gratitude for life evermore dear

A knowing of an inner spirit of calm

God's love shielding me from harm

In joyful reverence a moment gifted new

God's love, praise and favor on to you.

Two Leaves

two leaves, each an offering of autumn's grace
one onto the other held in heart's place
a sanctified array they do reveal
be these of blessings beyond conceal
chosen by hearts that live God's love
hallowed they be by the majesty of heavens above.

...a deep breath...color at play...and so it is...

Favor On To You

God's gifts to be known
By the bounty of earth shown
God's voice to be heard
In the hearing of HIS WORD
For life given unto me
For flowing waters of the sea
For the feel of your love divine
For this moment in grace mine
Each moment, day and passing year
In gratitude for life evermore dear
A knowing of an inner spirit of calm
God's love shielding me from harm
Cold be winter's winds now that blow
Upon my face sun's noon warming glow
In joyful reverence this day gifted new
God's love, praise and favor on to you.

...look I to... The Sky Above

a Sunday morning with skies so fair
the barren Dogwood dressed
anew in the light of God's care
the towering Oak leaves yet
in red rustic array
holding the glory of
sun's glow this day
upon the ground
a blanket of leaves
of colors yet bright
they too dressed
in the splendor
of this day's light
and I look to the beauty
of the lambent sky above
feel I the embrace
of God's heavenly love.
