The apple rests in the palm of my hand
Here I hold the bounty of God's command
Quartered, peeled and cut in preparation
Applesauce to be the transformation
Maple syrup for that hearty sweet touch
Cinnamon sticks, lemon juice not too much
Plumb raisins for added texture and flavor
Cook and stir, oh such aroma to savor
Applesauce made with love and set aside
Jars to hold delight and a bit of Mama's pride.

Applesauce was among the first foods fed to each of my sons... always homemade with added measures of love... and so the tradition held as a blessed treasure. Yes, Happy Thanksgiving it is!!
