Outside in the sun this day
At a table watching all that passes my way
Young mothers in anticipation of a birth to be
Knowing smiles willingly exchanged with me
A grandmother with twin girls less than years of two
In delightful playful encounter I to view
Young blue eyes catch my attentive smile
And look my way waving back a while
With paper cups and plates they play with pleasure
And I with smiling moments now to treasure.
