T W I L I G H T ...

A beautifully spent Sunday, in reflection, in response, in the warmth of the sun,
and in gratitude for what has been and what is...
Yes, the hour that has come to be...

TWILIGHT

the setting sun colors in celestial array
soon the twilight hour at this close of day
moments of change from day to night
ever yet the constant beckoning of light
the stars soon to sparkle in vistas above
the night to offer its guiding love
each moment of breath be it known
the receiving the giving in grace shown
the interface of NOW and change anew
blessings of BEING bequeathed to you
day night held as ONE in time
this the expression of the divine
day begets night in its ardent vesper call
be ONE, be ONE, with the grace of ALL.

A Town, in Celebration, in Tribute...

Past/Forward ~ Orangetown in Celebration
National Poetry Month Tribute April 28, 2017

Past... be this the Passion ~ Aspiration ~ Spirit ~ Treasures of breaths long gone ~ held in the memory of BEING.

Forward... be this the Faith, the Omnipresence ~ the Revelation ~ the Wondrous ~ the Aspiration ~ the Resurrection ~ the Deliverance ~ held in what IS.

It is the humanity that calls within the heart of a home, within an artifact is a vision, and intention, within a memory past, brought forward is the NOW.

A Home
Behold its walls

Held be the voices
The dreams
Echoes of days past.

Held with the heart of a HOME...
the Harvest of a vision
the Oneness of purpose
the Manifest dream
the Eternal in the NOW.

We the keepers
We hold and speak our story
Gathered we are in acknowledgment
In celebration in humanity’s treasured glory

Orangetown Rich in History
Rich with the treasures of settlements
With the vision of independence
With the knowing of freedom
With the glory of humanity

All that has come forth
All from the many yesterdays

And so in preservation’s name
Orangetown Rich in History makes its claim
Hold to the structures and artifacts of a day from a calendar past

Welcome with reverence the memories and light they yet cast
And what we allow to be, to stand
Is our grace and gratitude in knowing command
A history, a humanity, and so we hail
Orangetown Rich in History past/forward to prevail

We the keepers
We hold and speak our story
Embrace be time, humanity’s treasured glory.

Thank You.

The Child Within Calls...

The child within calls to the T R I B E...

     where Truth rules
          where Revelation is prized
where I AM is in presence
                      where Beauty is expression

...and so BE the risen light...

Very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared and they found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
Luke 24:1,3

HE HAS RISEN

This BE in loving grace heard
And known was the TRUTH of HIS WORD
Peace, love and healing did HE bring
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, let us sing
With unerring FAITH within our hearts HE to live
And to this our ardent devotion shall we give.

In Acknowledgment of National Poetry Month... I am asked what is my purpose as a Poet Laureate... I answer L I F E... to be known by our gifts, our needs, each letter, each word a journey, be it the Love that serves self and others, the Inspiration that speaks to heart and vision, the Freedom that defines our spirit, the Eternal ever present... Yes, an awakening to L I F E defines my purpose.
