Valentine's Day 2018... An ODE ...

Within each heart there be
A longing, 'tis love's decree
The call to self and another true
The blessings of devotion on to you
Within each heart a questing fair
To embrace another with love's tender care
Within each heart a knowing divine
This ever yours, this ever mine
Love to ever find its sacred way
This moment, this hour, this day.

Georgia O’Keeffe', "Red, Yellow and Black Streak," 1924, oil on canvas.

"The popular customs associated with Saint Valentine's Day undoubtedly had their origin in a conventional belief generally received in England and France during the Middle Ages, that on 14 February, i.e. half way through the second month of the year, the birds began to pair. Thus in Chaucer's Parliament of Foules we read:

For this was sent on Seynt Valentyne's day
Whan every foul cometh ther to choose his mate.

For this reason the day was looked upon as specially consecrated to lovers and as a proper occasion for writing love letters and sending lovers' tokens."

Our CLAIM ...

Written in the light of the afternoon sun...

Our Claim...
Seekers and doers to life our claim
Visions, dreams, our hearts to name
We look to vistas vast and far
To the telling of a distant star
We hold cards in our hand
Seek we what they reveal, what they command
A rune we choose and be we told
A truth from words ever new, ever old
And in silence our pulsing heart be heard
Know thyself, Know thyself, BE the WORD.

A R I S I N G ...

Upon  A R I S I N G  felt is the rhythm and the pulsing…
     the inner call of …

     Ascension
          Revelation
               I AM
                    Spirit
                         Inspiration
                              Nurturance
                                   Grace …
...within this very breath of BEING.

In Moments Present

And NOW as the sun sets
the light of day
in its divinity and repose
brilliant red and golden tones
don the barren trees
within breaths the darkened sky
trees silhouetted
stark and graceful they do stand
this night, this night
in the Creator's command.

Treasures of Light

adorned I be in gems of light
the diamonds of day, the diamonds of night
the sun in its brilliant hue
the stars in sparkle ever new
the moon in its wax and wane
from which the magical bears its name
glitter, sparkle, gems they be
the rain upon the leaves of the tree
glitter, sparkle, gems they be
snow crystals falling, falling upon me
each season, time, and place
a gem, a gem within heart to place
and from the earth deep, and richly endowed
a gem, a crystal, a mineral, to hold a vow
treasures of light shall ever they be
from CREATION, from CREATION onto Thee.
