An October Moment

the gentle chill of early fall
the touch of orange and crimson
leaves rustle whispers to the soft wind
the yet green grass lush and sweetly fragrant
the bloom of flowers in gem tones
yellow sapphire, red garnet, orange carnelian
in the near distance sculptures of angels
herald they their song of praise
cascading vines embrace the weathered wood fence
waters sounding as they fall to the pond
to the delight of the swimming koi
a walk to the garden
holding to the magic of fairy tales and stories of wonder
an interlude as the sunset hour is soon to be
an October moment reminds us of the summer that was
and the fall in all its presence of glory
in all its presence of glory.
