Counsel of Old

Counsel of Old

The poet and the bard with word and song did convey
To kings and rulers the heartfelt messages of the day
Counsel given in rhyme, gestures telling they be
To alert the kingdom of tales from across the sea
Jesters and jokers with wit would wisely advise
To be aware of those that mask and veil deceit and lies
Be it well that such wisdom of counsel shall be heard
For from their knowing hearts came echoes of THE WORD
Visions to be shared and truth ever to be sought
These the trappings that bards and jesters have brought
Be well advised that this counsel of old
Has a present day story yet to be told
Those with deliberate agendas of deception and demise
Seek not the counsel of the poetic nor of the wise
The artistry of the word in its truth shall ever prevail
For it is beauty and truth that the noble and wise rightly hail
A poet of modern times in rhyme I choose to pen the word
May your counsel of heart too,  be known and ever heard.

The Wisdom of Passion I So Decree

The wisdom of passion I so decree
'Tis the winds and cresting waves of the sea
The flames of soul's deep desire
The consuming transforming lure of sun and fire
The towering tree reaching with branch and bough
The budding bloom holding to nature's vow
The lingering lure of a garden's scent
The embracing vision clear and fervent
The soft caress of this Summer moment mine
'Tis thought and BEING in beauty entwine
The feel of this PRESENCE known it shall be
The wisdom of passion I so decree.

Monday Morning... a reflection... BEYOND

Beyond the clamor and chaos
Beyond the trials and pain
Beyond perceived illusion
Beyond the darkness and dismay
Is the gift of LIFE itself this day
LIVE the moment, heed Spirit's call
Within each breath, the giving, the receiving, the ALL
Change be it known, the drama, the resolve, the grace
Love and peace within our hearts HE does place
And with this play of light ever divine
Be the joy of BEING,  this the gift of life and time
Beyond the clamor and chaos
Beyond the trials and pain
Beyond perceived illusion
Beyond the darkness and dismay
Is the gift of LIFE itself this day.

Firmament ~ An Embracing Stillness

An embracing stillness
The air as one with breath breathing
The sun as one with heart pulsing
The bloom as one with soul sounding
The water as one with grace blessing
The firmament as one with PRESENCE

So be these gifts in PRAISE
An embracing stillness.

A conversation... a reflection...the Fifth Agreement...

WHO AM I
If you see me in the shadows of others
If your vision is obscured by the perception of another
If you listen to my words and hear only the echoes of another's judgment
I am then but another's story cast in illusion
I am then but distortions made real
Unveil the masked lies... let truth be its own voice
Yes, it is a choice, it is a choice.

At my front door here in Tappan, New York... Bloom and Splendor

favors of Spring this day be known
the blessings of rain be they shown

at my door in beckoning glee
leaf and bloom upon each tree
and from the sky so high above
the sweet rain of nature's love
upon grass, leaf, branch and bough
droplets holding to Spring's sacred vow
lush and green blessings brought to me
bloom and splendor of the Dogwood tree.

Libation Sweet...

Today the rains in abundance fall
A gift to land, brush and trees tall
Green of grass, the delight of bloom
Libation sweet fills the hour of noon
Dogwood holds the rains and light
Known be this grace, this delight.

Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) - Hillsong United - with Lyrics

This in response, by a dear friend,  to the post, "Celestial Sea." Her words received with love and gratitude...

"This has tapped that eternal place inside of me. I have been living on grace and swimming in this song,  "Oceans," by Hillsong. My grief has been great at the loss of not only my mother's best friend that I was named after, but my friend and my other mother. Your Celestial Sea has comforted me. It has brought joy to my soul. Thank you, Thank you and thank God for your talent so inspired."

Trisha Boyd

I thank Trisha Boyd  for her openness of heart, her soulful expression, and the sharing of a song that has blessed her with grace.

Solace, blessings and PEACE on to all.

Forged Through The Fire

Forged through the fire, petitioned he
Held within heart be liberation's decree
Burn - burn - burn - flame rise anew
The haunts of the past given their due
Consumed by truth ever so real
Be those daunting echoes of oppression n'er conceal
Rise from the ash of memories of time and place
THE WAY calls and set are new markers of grace.

Inspired by the willingness of a student to confront emotional wounds
and the knowing that only he is the true minister of SELF proclaimed.

Working with school age students and adult students of life continues to light the flames of faith and to hold witness to the ever rising Phoenix... this the ever present Spirit alight with TRUTH. Be it expressions of works, of gestures kind, of words that echo empathy, understanding, regard, accord, be it of a listening ear, be it of caring hearts reaching anew, be it blessings shared... this the pulse of my offerings... Forged Through The Fire.

Celestial Sea

Waters of embracing beauty
That of the Celestial Sea
Waves of spirit in silent sounding
Blessed be this grace of light from Thee

Lambent blue and white
Be it of oceans in soaring tides to crest
Be it of the heavens beckoning
And of our eternal behest
Implacable be this gift of Creation Divine
Behold the beauty, behold the sublime
Crystalline be this earth in ever present change
Waters be of flow and life ever in God's name.

Leonard Borgognone

Lenny

Known was his attentive loving care
A gentleness with an engaging flair
A most special feeling did he evoke
With interest he listened to what you spoke
A heartfelt commentary or two
And felt was his understanding of you
To me he did bring decades of styling pleasure
His artistry with hair a respected treasure
Remember I shall his welcoming smile, his manners of grace
Lenny, within our hearts your love and peace to ever place.

Lenny was my hairdresser for over twenty years. Each time he did my hair he stated he loved my long gray-white hair. His death was unexpected and so sudden. He worked on Thursday, in fine spirits with no indication of any reason for concern. He was expected at Salon S on Friday morning. It was not like him not to be on time for his scheduled appointments. Sleep brought him peacefully to another destiny. Loved he was and deeply missed he shall ever be. I will be presenting at his Memorial Service... his loving life in celebration..
