...this window...This Window of My Mind

this window of my mind
by what light do I see
by what impressions am I moved
by what perceptions am I led
this window of my mind
by what shadows am I reflected
by what doubts am I haunted
by what fears am I consumed
this window of my mind
by what grace am I blessed
by what wisdom am I guided
by what love am I known
this window of my mind
by what destiny am I called
by what purpose am I defined
by what faith am I strengthened
this window of my mind
be there the love of God
be there the gift of children
be there the bounty of nature
this window of my mind
be there gratitude for this gift of life
be there a tomorrow of grace
be there ever the light of PRESENCE.

Silent Night Rhythm

Loss and the beauty of what was
The winds carry the haunting call of past and present
The heart beats the memory, the lament
The soul knows it is the dark and the light
The morning and the noonday gone to the journey of night
The journey of night ever in pursuit of the awakening dawn
To this our life and love belong.

Blessed Golden Hues

alchemic waves of thought
fill this ocean of mind
blessed golden hues
treasured moment of solace
flowing faith anew
hushed is the doubt
now in the river's path
deep be the peace
silent is the din.

Sounding Waves

sounding waves cresting in my mind
thunderous be these waters and moving tides
winds echo the whispers of each yesterday
beckon they to this restless heart
call they to this questing soul
flow, crest, bathe these wounds of time past
within this breath of ebb and flow be it shown
the flow of life and spirit eternal known.

A Night Festival ~ here in Tappan, New York

strong gusting winds and sounding sounding chimes
a calling night song
the full moon casts its majestic light
branch and bough in surrender sway
shadows dance upon the shimmering mounds of snow
a night festival dressed in winter's array.

An added word:

This full moon was known by early Native American tribes as the Full Snow Moon because the heaviest snows usually fell during this time of the year. Since hunting is difficult, this moon has also been known by some tribes as the Full Hunger Moon.

Branches Yet Bare

...this noon hour in Tappan, New York...

running waters from the melting mounds of snow
ice cycles surrendering to the sun's gentle warmth
the scamper of squirrels upon ground and towering Oak
sun's light behind the drifting clouds on high
song and flight of birds upon branches yet bare
the sigh of winter the beckoning of spring
light and change, this each passing day to bring.

Dreamer's Alchemy

surrender I to the lure of darkness
and in the depths of slumber I be
upon a rising golden wave
this this dreamer's alchemy
the embracing hold of night
the vistas traveled afar
visions of time yet to come
awakened to the light of sun star.

Pen In Hand

and here this pen in poet's hand
what thought, what yearning
wherein is heart's command
this earth with bounty blessed
this morning of rising light
the loving touch of grace behold
heed the whimper of the child
heed the call for knowing wise
calling calling be heart's command
and here this pen in poet's hand
a smile, a gesture, the warming sun
a creed, a mission, a task now done
'tis not what I alone to answer nor unfold
the pleas of need be too your story told
all awakens for the vision yet held
purpose and right intention in glory meld
with word and reach and Faith in command
and here this pen in poet's hand.

Valentine's Day ~ Where Love Is Known

Where Love Is Known

Where love is known
And destiny makes its call
Now I want to take you away
Bring you to that place
Where there are no doubts
Where you feel the vastness and closeness
Where an embrace holds and frees you
Where you live the beauty you are
Where love is known
And destiny makes its call.

Pulsing Flow

power off - no electricity
the quietude barren of machines
motors, TV, radio, telephone, computer
the hush of electrical toil and task
in this silence what do I hear
the ambient sounds that echo all that is
the gentle call of the wind
the wind chime melody
the songbird song
the pulsing flow of all
the sounding feel of a breath known
a breath known
a breath known.

And the Mask ~ Carnival of Venice

And the Mask

Reveal, I hear this night command
Cloak not the quiver of shadow close at hand
Remove pretense and the mask donned to conceal
The TRUTH, the deep knowing, this while knowing real
Confront and resolve, the petition summons a call
Beyond all consideration, TRUTH to lay bear ALL
To the plea of this petition I to heed
And TRUTH, 'tis ever the rightful creed.
