Secret Tree

Secret tree, a cloak of nature's wile

Blanketing the light you hold
What secret do you harbor in hues of green
Reflections upon still waters seen
Dipping deep at water's edge
I step beneath your bough
Your secret kept shall be my vow
I listen to what you have heard
And hear I the whispers of THE WORD.

I love the idea of the secret being The WORD. This is brilliant.

The tree and even the path look very intriging. The adventure side of me comes out, when I see that path. What can be found?

A clever poem, very gripping.

Well, I am definitely a fan of trees, and your poem is wonderful! I often wish I could see through their "eyes", at all they've witnessed and survived through their long years!

A feeling of deep accord, a smiling gratitude as I read each of your comments.

Karen, I too, love the idea of the secret being THE WORD.

Choices, I'll explore with you - keep adventure alive.

Dave, I am ever appreciative of your appraisals.

Rain, I have an oak tree in my backyard - we do indeed share conversations!
