The Inquest

Witness the inquest
A trial proceeding
the heart longing
the mind reflecting
the spirit searching
the soul awakened
And so life speaks
to itself and hungers
to be heard
What reverie shall we reveal
What lament shall we cry
What affirmation shall we hail
Witness the inquest
A trial proceeding.

I love this picture and almost chose it for my avatar. The structure is wonderful -- images of the trial and the heart, mind, spirit, and soul followed by the series of questions that bring us back to the image of life as trial...very, very nice, Rose Marie. My favorite lines are:

And so life speaks
to itself and hungers
to be heard

Karen, There is something deeply knowing in Waterhouse's paintings of woman. He captures their physical beauty and grace and portrays their spiritual quest. Yes, fitting avatars.

ENJOY your planned venture. You will be missed.

Joanne and Rosana, As I stated to Karen, Waterhouse truly is able to capture the inner mood, the query, the consideration, that is indeed so much a part of who we are. I often feel that my words are the words of the spirit he captures and portrays in his most appealing paintings. Waterhouse's paintings speak my heart. Thank you for sharing my joy.
